Jay Henderson played professional hockey for over 13 years – he was drafted to the NHL in 1997 by the Boston Bruins, playing 33 games with the club. From there, Henderson would spend 8-years in the AHL, during which he was a 3-time American Hockey League Calder Cup Champion. Henderson would wrap up the last 5 years of his professional career with in the German Elite Hockey League (DEL), the Austrian Elite Hockey League (EBEL), and the English Elite Hockey League (EIHL).
Since retiring as a player, Henderson has held numerous Assistant and Head Coach roles for Hockey Alberta, including coaching in the Alberta Cup multiple times. Henderson would also spend 2 years in the WHL as an Assistant Coach for the Kootenay. Jay’s experience with working for and with many great organizations, allow him to bring a high-quality level of experience to OHA.
Henderson joined OHA Edmonton in 2022.
